It all started on the Long Island Railroad!

Over the years my work has evolved from different lines and custom engagement rings in gold and platinum to focusing on more of a playful approach. My name never changed nor did the quality of my work. I just figured out how to have fun!

I love telling the story how it all came to me on the Long Island Rail Road! In 1999 I had gone to a GIA meeting in New York and had a consultation with an amazing well known jewelry consultant extraordinaire Cindy Edelstein she opened my eyes to see my own potential and to inspire me to think outside the box. At the time I was working with 18kt yellow gold- a yummy delicious metal. I use to etch designs on brass (You can see me an old HGTV show preforming this process) then I would roller print the brass on to the gold and create fold form pieces. I loved the process but I never wore my work. I joked that I could not afford my own work but the truth was that I was making my work for other people. I wasn't being true to my practice. Cindy told me to make something for myself. I had always loved color.  Growing up I loved to dress like Cyndi Lauper and wore swatch watches in my hair. I had wanted to work with plastics but it is very toxic to create in a small studio. So on that train ride home I had a Eureka moment....LEGO I ran to Toys R Us the next day and bought my first box (which I still have to this today). Bare in mind that I only had intentions of making a piece or two for myself. I had gotten such a great response that I created a small line to show with my other work for the American Craft Council show in 2002 in Charlotte, NC. At that show I received an Achievement Award...the rest is history. So since I never played with LEGO as a child, for the past 18 years I have been making up for it.

You can still call me for custom, repair work and to restore your families jewelry- I still love to be a part of that process and connect with people in that way.

Thank you to those of you who followed my work from the very beginning and have pieces from each of my lines. I am very grateful for all the support and always love seeing the same clients order from my site year after year! So if you are reading this and you are one of my many supporters- Thank you for contributing to a small business with one hard working gal behind it!!

Thank you for reading : )

Hello. I purchased your “Open Mind” ring at the ACC show in Charlotte back in 2003 and just wanted to tell you that it is one of my top 3 favorite pieces. I bought it for myself because I really loved the way you joined two sandblasted golds that delicately, but firmly, hold a diamond between them. The Achievement Award you won was well-deserved. You are so talented! Thank you for sharing your gifts and creativity and making beautiful things that adorn others!
    Sincerely,
    wendy wagner
